Jalupro: A UK Practitioner's Guide to the Range

This article is written for qualified aesthetic practitioners and prescribers. It is not medical advice for patients, and clinical decisions should follow the manufacturer's instructions for use, your training and your own assessment.
Jalupro is a range of injectable skin boosters made by Professional Derma SA in Lugano, Switzerland. Each product pairs hyaluronic acid with an amino acid complex intended to support the fibroblast's own collagen production, rather than adding volume. For a UK clinic, the practical question is less "what is Jalupro?" and more "which of the four core products suits which patient, and how does it sit alongside the boosters I already use?" This guide works through that, product by product.
Professional Derma describes Jalupro as a collagen and amino acid replacement therapy, and notes that the brand's origins are in wound healing. The thinking is simple: collagen is rich in glycine, proline and lysine, and ageing or photo-damaged fibroblasts may be short of the building blocks they need. Jalupro delivers those amino acids into the dermis together with sodium hyaluronate for hydration.
That puts it in the biorevitaliser category alongside products such as Sunekos, which uses a similar amino acid plus HA concept (we covered it in our Sunekos practitioner guide). It is not a volumising filler, and patients should not be told to expect contour change. Setting that expectation at consultation is the single biggest factor in patient satisfaction with this class of product.
On regulatory status, the manufacturer's data sheet for Jalupro HMW lists it as a medical device under Directive 93/42/EEC. Check the labelling and IFU on the stock you receive for the conformity marking that applies to each product and batch, and keep that information in your product records.
Four products make up the core range most UK practitioners use. They differ in hyaluronic acid weight, additional actives and intended area.
Classic is the original formulation: a two-part kit in which an amino acid solution is combined with sodium hyaluronate before injection. The manufacturer pairs the amino acids with low molecular weight HA and positions Classic for body skin biorevitalisation (abdomen, arms, inner thighs, knees), scars and the scalp, as well as early signs of ageing on the face. Because it has to be reconstituted, build mixing time into the appointment and follow aseptic technique closely. Once mixed, use it in that session.
HMW swaps in high molecular weight hyaluronic acid. It comes as a pre-filled glass syringe of HA gel plus a separate bottle of amino acid solution (glycine, L-proline and L-lysine are named on the data sheet), and the pack contains no needles. The manufacturer lists indications including moderate to severe photo-ageing of the face and body, dry and dehydrated skin, and preparing for or extending the results of other aesthetic procedures. Listed areas are the face, neck, décolletage, underarms, hands, inner thighs, abdomen and knees. You can order it as Jalupro HMW (1 x 1.5ml + 1 x 1ml).
Super Hydro is the heavier-duty product in the range. Professional Derma describes it as the signature amino acid cluster combined with a high-viscosity component intended for deep connective tissue and facial ligament support, with the retinacular cutis named as a target. Our product listing describes a hybrid HA made from two molecular sizes, plus peptides including acetyl decapeptide-3, acetyl tetrapeptide-5 and oligopeptide-24. It suits patients whose main concern is laxity and loss of skin quality rather than surface dehydration. See Jalupro Super Hydro (2.5ml) for pack details.
Young Eye is formulated for the periorbital area. The manufacturer says it combines amino acids, which support collagen production, skin density and thickness, with a bi-density HA designed to hydrate without adding puffiness. It is positioned for periorbital fine lines, dark circles and bags where these relate to thin, sagging skin. That last qualifier matters. Pigmentary dark circles, fat pad herniation or a deep tear trough deformity are a different problem, and a booster alone is unlikely to satisfy those patients. Jalupro Young Eye (1 x 1ml) is supplied as a single 1ml unit.
A useful way to frame the decision is to work out which layer of the problem you are treating:
Many clinics treat Jalupro as a skin-quality course that sits between, or ahead of, structural treatments. A patient with jowling and poor skin quality, for example, may be better served by a combined plan than by booster sessions alone. Record the rationale for your product choice in the treatment notes, since it shows clinical reasoning if a patient later questions the outcome.
Always work from the IFU supplied with the batch. The HMW data sheet lists micropapules, linear, fan, grid and mixed techniques. For fine lines, it describes inserting the needle along the wrinkle and releasing product as it is withdrawn, with the reticular dermis given as the typical injection site. The manufacturer quotes effects that build over time and last around six months, but individual response varies and should not be promised.
Session numbers and intervals vary by product, area and patient. Practitioners commonly run an initial course of several sessions a few weeks apart, followed by maintenance, but follow the specific product guidance rather than a one-size-fits-all schedule. Needle choice depends on technique and area. Our mesotherapy needle sizing guide covers gauge and length selection for intradermal work, which is useful because the HMW pack ships without needles.
For the periorbital area in particular, slow, low-volume delivery and a conservative first session help you see how the patient's tissue responds before the next appointment. Transient swelling, redness and small papules at injection points are expected with micropapule techniques, so warn patients about them at consultation and in written aftercare.
"Is Jalupro better than Profhilo?" is one of the most common related searches, and the honest answer is that they work differently. Profhilo is a high-concentration hybrid HA product placed at set points, and it spreads to hydrate and remodel tissue (our Profhilo injection points guide covers the BAP technique). Jalupro adds an amino acid substrate on top of HA, with the stated aim of supporting fibroblast collagen production.
In practice, many clinics use both: Profhilo for broad hydration and laxity, and a Jalupro product for targeted areas such as the periorbital region or for body skin. Rather than positioning one as superior, explain to patients what each is designed to do and choose based on their assessment.
Jalupro is an injectable, and the usual standards apply: a full medical history, screening for active skin infection or inflammation at the site, and particular care with patients who have autoimmune disease, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a history of hypersensitivity to any component. Check the contraindications in the IFU for the product you are using, as they are the reference point if anything goes wrong.
Written consent should cover the expected course length, the likelihood of temporary papules and swelling, rare risks such as infection or nodules, and the fact that results are gradual and vary between patients. Record the product, batch number, expiry, volume, technique, needle used and areas treated for every session. Store unopened stock as directed on the packaging, and buy only from UK suppliers who can show a traceable supply chain.
Filler World supplies the core range to qualified practitioners, and you can see every product in one place on our Jalupro collection. If you are adding Jalupro to your menu for the first time, starting with one product that fits the patient group you see most often lets you build experience before you expand.
It is a well-established biorevitaliser with a distinct mechanism: amino acids plus HA, rather than HA alone. Whether it suits a patient depends on their concern. It is designed for skin quality, fine lines and thinning skin, not volume replacement.
The manufacturer states that the effect of Jalupro HMW builds over time and lasts around six months. Duration varies between patients and depends on age, skin condition and lifestyle, so most clinics plan maintenance sessions after the initial course.
Classic pairs the amino acids with low molecular weight HA and is a two-part kit mixed before use. HMW uses high molecular weight HA supplied in a pre-filled syringe, and the manufacturer positions it for moderate to severe photo-ageing and areas such as the neck, décolletage and hands.
The manufacturer positions it for dark circles and bags when these are related to thinning and sagging skin. Circles caused mainly by pigmentation, vascularity or structural hollowing may need a different approach, so assess the cause before choosing the product.
No. Both combine amino acids with hyaluronic acid, but they are different products from different manufacturers, with their own formulations and protocols. Follow each product's own instructions for use.
Jalupro works best when it is matched to the right layer of the problem: Classic and HMW for skin quality and body areas, Super Hydro for support, and Young Eye for thin periorbital skin. Set realistic expectations, follow the IFU and keep thorough records. Used that way, the range is a useful addition to a skin-quality offering that does not depend on volume.
